Home, Between disappearance and reminiscence
The key element of the project is the loss and recovery of something essential to human identity, namely the feeling of belonging, the feeling of "home".
Based on the experience of the recently crossed period, the artist refers to the time of self-isolation by treating the term "home" interchangeably, both as a shelter to which she is on the path to and as a trap in which she is entangled. The memories of the house thus become luminous symbols in the dark sea of memory. The chosen technique - oil on canvas, allows the exploration of the depth of painting through a continuous play between finished and non-finished surfaces. The role of memory is emphasized by the fragmented representation of the elements, the essential being highlighted, and the other elements remaining semi-transparent, peaceful or dangerous layers.
Ana-Eudochia's paintings alternate between representation and abstract, operating with these two terms with the intention of leaving room for interpretation.
